The Project
BJH was tasked with transforming this entire building & its old, faulty windows & replace them with 165 AluK 58BW windows in black. This involved removing the existing, supplying, and installing the new windows.
The Product
All 165 windows used were the AluK 58BW Hi Casement, these aluminium windows offer exceptional durability & impressively low U-Values of 1.4 W/M ²K with double glazing. Each window had trickle ventilation conforming to government regulations.
For enhanced thermal performance, the AluK 58BW Hi Casement is also available with triple glazing, and Comfort Plus glass for even lower U-Values.

Safety
BJH Windows takes safety seriously. Ensuring all risk assessments & method statements were provided prior to the job commencing. With all our installation teams required to wear hard hats & safety vests throughout.
For high level work, the installation experts were given a 300kg safety weight, attached to inertia reels & harnesses to prevent any chance of accidents. Much of the safety equipment was sourced from Leach’s.
Adjacent paths and potentially dangerous zones below the building were blocked off with high visibility safety fencing. Ensuring any falling debris, would fall in a restricted area with no pedestrians.
Execution & Challenges
Our teams worked tirelessly, taking 165 windows & 330 pieces of toughened glass up & down multiple stories (with no working escalator!) in the relentless summer heat.
To minimise disruption on the active worksite, we completed the installation floor-by-floor. Our installation teams stayed overnight in a nearby hotel, maximising productivity. Thanks to the 2 teams’ dedication and efficiency, this job was completed in 6 weeks (30 working days).
